January 20 is an historic date, not only as the date of the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States, but as the date in 1956 that Frank Sinatra, with arranger/conductor Nelson Riddle, recorded the now classic album "Songs For Swingin' Lovers" for Capitol Records. This was one of the first "concept" albums. In this case, the theme was love, of the swinging variety. It included "You Make Me Feel So Young," "Anything Goes" and "I Thought About You." At the last minute, per Nancy Sinatra, they added a song that Sinatra fans have voted the best song he ever sang....Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin." I love the entire album, it is one of my favorite Sinatra disks. This is Frank at his coolest.
