Cirque du Soleil wanna be startin' somethin' with Michael Jackson.
The Canadian company that transformed the Beatles catalog into an audio-visual, sound-surround dreamscape with "Love" at Las Vegas' Mirage Hotel (see video below), have their sights set on the King of Pop's catalog, according to Roger Friedman of the blog Showbiz411.com.
Cirque du Soleil are currently gearing up for the start of their Elvis Presley show, “Viva Elvis,” which debuts next month at the ARIA Hotel in Las Vegas. They also recently collaborated with celebrity illusionist Criss Angel for the show "Believe," which is in residence at Luxor Las Vegas.
Once "Viva Elvis" has launched, Cirque du Soleil plan to ramp up their negotiations with the Jackson estate.
Their offer is said to be "astronomical," according to Friedman.
