Holly Madison joins the walking wounded on Dancing with the Stars
It's hard to believe, but now Holly Madison has been injured while rehearsing for her next Dancing With the Stars performance.
Madison, the former Hugh Hefner girlfriend who was forced to perform in the show's dance-off Tuesday night, was experiencing pain before performing on this week's shows. Then on Thursday, while rehearsing for the tango with partner Dmitry Chaplin, the pain became significantly worse and Madison required medical attention.
"While she is not suffering from a broken rib, she does continue to feel a great deal of discomfort and was prescribed pain medication," Madison's rep told US Magazine. "She is committed to the show and her partner, Dmitry, and will rest when she can. She fully hopes and, at this time, expects to dance on Monday."
Madison's injury is the latest in a series of unfortunate events to befall the popular ABC show. She signed on to compete as a replacement for singer Jewel, who suffered fractured shinbones in both legs before the show's premiere. Then Melissa Rycroft was called in as a last-minute replacement for Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell, who dropped out because of a torn miniscus. Contestants Steve-O and Steve Wozniak have also suffered from back and foot injuries.
Finally, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson's family filed a restraining order Wednesday against a stalker who trespassed onto studio property Tuesday, obsessed with Johnson.
