Reality TV babe Denise Richards, who danced like a fifth-grader in ballroom dance classes, was the second celebrity eliminated from Dancing with the Stars Tuesday in a dance-off with Hugh Hefner's former girlfirend, Holly Madison, who wasn't much better.

In a Results Show that shocked even veteran DWTS watchers like myself, Apple co-founder and out-of-shape good guy Steve Wozniak was miraculously saved by voters from elimination, just one night after he received the lowest score from DWTS judges in six seasons.

In spite of receiving a total score of 10 out of 30 from judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba, the Woz was one of the first four celebrities saved on the DWTS Results Show, leaving other dancers vulnerable.

Although the second most likely dancer to be eliminated might have been "Jackass" star Steve-O Glover, who received a score of 15 Monday, he also was saved by voters and an obviously broad fan base. Both he and Wozniak had suffered from a double dose of injuries during Season 8's first three weeks.

Although Madison looked stiff during her second version of the Samba, judge Len Goodman said she "looked really hot tonight." Bruno Tonioli told Madison her timing was a bit off, and Carrie Ann Inaba noted that Madison came to the competition late, as a replacement for the injured singer Jewel. The judges gave Madison scores of 6, 6, and 6, for a total score of 18 and an improvement of 1 point over Monday night's score.

Richards, who often appeared scared on the dance floor and cried during rehearsals, reprised her Samba with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Bruno said that he could not believe how much she had improved over Monday night, and advised her to "build a character around a performance." Carrie Ann told her she was good under pressure, and Len said the dance-off gave her the opportunity to prove she could stay. "And tonight, you did," he said.

Richards' scores were 6, 7 and 7, for a total score of 20, a four-point improvement over Monday and two points more than Madison. But the viewers' votes were what really mattered.

After her elimination, Richards told AOL TV: "I just had to take a deep breath. I love the show and wanted to stay, so I gave it my all. I had hoped it would be enough. The audience response was gracious and the judges were great. At least we went out with that instead of my performance from last night."

The fact that Wozniak was not eliminated is a testament to the tech guy's widespread effort to get votes from his techie supporters, primarily spreading the word to "VoteWoz" via web tools like Twitter and Facebook. But Richards might be a bit miffed, considering his past performances.

"I'm more shocked than any time in my life other than when I was served with divorce papers," Wozniak said backstage, after his save.

The Results Show also featured a performance of their hit "Maneater" by Daryl Hall and John Oates, while Karina Smirnoff got tossed around the dance floor by three hunks -- Maksim Chmerkovskiy, her fiancee, Tony Dovolani and Dmitry Chaplin. Grammy Award winner Adele also performed the haunting "Chasing Pacement" while Edyta Sliwinska danced with DWTS veteran and husband Alec Mezo.

In a cute pre-taped feature, octagenarian actress and Season 7 favorite Cloris Leachman and her former partner, Corky Ballas, provided a tongue-in-cheek lesson in next week's dances, the Argentine Tango and the Lindy Hop.
