I watched 24 last night, but I’m still not sure what I saw. Jack pulled a MacGyver and microwaved some cleaning products to form a noxious gas to force Matobo and his wife out of the safe room. Then he pretended to kill Walker. Then he and Tony were forced to bury the still-alive Agent Walker while Emerson watched. Sorry, but it’s obvious that she is going to escape, even though she is lying helpless under a sheet of plastic being covered with dirt and, in reality, would be asphyxiated.

Across town, the President’s husband’s Secret Service guy, Agent Gedge, turns out to be a bad guy and drugs the First Gentleman. He uses some kind of poison which makes the FG unable to move, but of course he can still hear everything. And Agent Gedge talks and talks and talks. I’m pretty sure I saw this same exact plot line on Days of our Lives a few years ago and find this somewhat disappointing. Although it was funny when Gedge propped the immobile FG up on Samantha’s couch so that she would think he was casually sitting there waiting for when she walked in. And I don’t mind the Evil Secret Service Agent angle; it makes me wonder how many of them are involved, if one of the President’s own agents is also evil, and if the agents did it strictly for the money or if they just got tired of walking next to the car in parades when everyone else gets to ride.

I also liked the twist of Sean’s wife’s plane landing safely and thinking he had something to do with it, then Erica (another analyst) commenting to Sean about it and it’s obvious that he thinks SHE had something to do with it and THEN she says “That was really fun last night.”

Hold the phone. If Sean is cheating with Erica then wouldn’t it be more convenient for him if his wife’s plane crashed? And why would Erica save his wife? Sure, he’d be grateful and “owe her one” but then…the wife is still around. This has got the makings of some good drama and I hope they don’t screw it up by making Erica only be commenting about all the analysts going out and shooting pool or something.

My biggest complaint about last night: no Chloe. Sure, Janis is cranky but nobody does “aggrieved” like Chloe does. I’m still hoping that Janis turns out to be in league with the bad guys so there can be a Chloe-Janis tech-off then throwdown. You know Janis will fight dirty but I have a feeling that Chloe is better trained.
