On Thursday, July 2, GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois presents The Bob Dylan Show with music legend Bob Dylan and his band, along with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. Their summer-long tour is only the second time all three musicians have performed on the same stage together in the past 24 years.
On top of performing over 100 concerts a year for the past 15 years, Dylan's won multiple Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Kennedy Center Honor (the highest honor given for artistic achievement in the United States). In April, he released his latest album Together Through Life. Concert attendees can expect to hear his new stuff as well as the older classics.
Nelson has kept busy as well, releasing a dozen records in the past five years. He's won several Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and Country Music Awards. When he's not recording, he's busy being an author, poet, actor and activist.
During Mellencamp's career as a singer-songwriter, he's released 23 albums with worldwide sales over $40 million, while amassing 22 Top 40 hit songs. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
The Bob Dylan Show is an event for the whole family, as children 14 and under get in free with each adult ticket holder. Tickets start at $67. The gates open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 5:30 p.m.
