The UFO Traffic Report for Friday, October 23, 2009, includes 5 selected sightings over 4 states, according to witness statements filed in the past 48 hours with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If MUFON investigates and reports back on any of these cases, I will update this page. The following reports and their headlines are unedited and uninvestigated.

NV, October 19, 2009 - I saw 3 floating lights hovering above a mountain which then came and flew over me low and turned hard and flew away all silently. MUFON Case # 20051.

A Henderson, Nevada, witness "noticed three extremely bright lights hovering over" a nearby mountain. As the lights became brighter, the witness exited his vehicle and realized the object was coming toward him. The witness described the object as silent with five large, extremely bright, rectangular-shaped lights on its bottom side - forming a diamond shape to the entire object. The witness says the object flew just 400 feet above him and made a 270-degree turn before disappearing behind a mountain.

CA, October 22, 2009 - 2 stationary white spheres, one small, one larger. small one fell, large dissolved in itself. MUFON Case # 20092.

A California witnesss saw a "white ball" that was the size of a quarter held at arm's length. The object "fell" straight down without leaving any trail. Then the witness noticed a second, larger, object in the sky - about the size of a half dollar held at arm's length. This object just slowly dissolved until it was a pinpoint of light.

CA, October 4, 2009 - FireBall meteor type. MUFON Case # 20093.

Several California witnesses watched what they first thought was a meteor, but then the object stopped in one place for about 30 seconds before heading south at a low rate of speed with a light trail behind it. They estimate the object was at about 1,000 feet.

ID, October 23, 2009 - bright red moving object stopped mid air and another object beganflashing. MUFON Case # 20087.

An Idaho witness who regularly watches for shooting stars, noticed a red shining object that "suddenly appeared" and moved over the witnesses' house. Then the witness noticed 10 other star-like lights blinking on and off. One of the star-like objects moved over the red object and they both disappeared.

CT, October 21, 2009 - Dark Grey, size of a blimp. MUFON Case # 20083.

This Connecticut witness driving home from work at 5:15 p.m. noticed a large, cigar-shaped object in the sky to the west that on first glance appeared to be a blimp. But driving closer, the witness realized the object had no "tail fins or nose." The witness stated that the object hovered in one spot, "and was a non reflective dark grey in appearance." The size was described as that of a Goodyear Blimp.
