  Tiger Lily

Juveniles who commit vicious crimes against humans almost always begin their spree with
animals.

Take Columbine shooter Eric Harris – he smashed mice with a crowbar and set them on fire. Serial killer Lee Boyd Malvo, from Washington, DC, killed stray cats with a slingshot. Kip Kinkle blew up a cow and burned a live cat. He then shot 25 classmates and murdered his parents in Springfield, Oregon. Luke Woodham confessed to bludgeoning his dog with a baseball bat and setting her on fire after he mortally stabbed his mother.

Today I read about 17 year old Cheyenne Cherry from Bronx, NY who broke into her former roommates apartment, slashed the furniture, threw bleach on the walls, stole DVD’s and noodles, and then tossed a kitten named Tiger Lily into a hot oven, turned up the heat, and fled the scene. She didn’t stay around long enough to hear the kitten’s scratches and cries for help. A necropsy had to be performed to determine the kitten’s sex because she had been burned beyond all recognition!

To say that I am sick to my stomach is an understatement. To say that I wish for the maximum sentence for this girl is meek at best, because what she deserves is far more than any court of law would ever hand down under the current laws.

“I hate cats,” said Cherry, after being arrested with her unidentified accomplice. “We thought we would play a joke on Valerie and mess up her apartment.”

Cherry has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, burglary, arson, reckless endangerment, and criminal mischief. She was released to the custody of her mother. Her accomplice has not been arrested.

In my opinion, Cherry is a murderer!

Cherry was able to torture a living being with no remorse. Dr. Randall Lockwood of the ASPCA Anti-Cruelty Initiatives says the intentional burning of an animal is a “particularly significant predictor of violent and even homicidal behavior.”

Ya think?

What distresses me is that our legal system will give her more jail time for the burglary and arson than they will for burning the kitten alive.

If you are as moved by this horrendous murder as am I, then please take the time to write or call the following New York officials and ask that Cheyenne Cherry be given the maximum sentence under the law:

Sadly, these types of crimes are not limited to large cities...animals are being tortured in cities, townships, burgs, hamlets, and villages all over the world. Tiger Lily is not alone-she is one of millions who will be abused today.  Don't let her die in vain.
