Let me answer comments answering my past post and e-mail I get. The subject is making yet another pass at the liberty and privacy of Citizens by way of a National ID Card with reduced requirements. he history on this is that when the REAL ID was first proposed, it was rejected by enough states to make the difference. DHS now introduces National ID Lite, but it’s the same old reason for its rejection to begin with. The People don’t want it, and our refusal ought to be enough. Is it, or isn’t it? The original homeland security of the United States is not in the government, but in its superior, the electorate. When the citizenry is armed with knowledge, authority, and wherewithal, it is unbeatable in a free society. It is the supreme authority here, and any attempt to impose a program against the interests and will of the people is itself a statement of intentions. First, here is one excerpt from a DHS press release from earlier this week: "Today’s introduction of Pass ID in the U.S. Senate brings us closer to greater compliance with federal standards for secure driver’s licenses and better protection against terrorists and other threats nationwide," said Secretary Napolitano. "Pass ID is a cost-effective, common-sense solution that balances critical security requirements with the input and practical needs of state governments. I am committed to supporting this important bill and it is my hope that Congress will pass it into law as quickly as possible." Let me as a citizen look at this. " ... better protection against terrorist and other threats nationwide." How, please? Exactly how? As I posted in the previous article on this, the new revelation (the lipstick on the pig that is a National ID Card) is the make-up that the Pass ID will affirm citizenship. My question for the entire country is why hasn’t the Administration simply done this before all of this expense and soft tyranny? (Maybe we should have a picture of a rat with lipstick!) The Watertown Daily Times reports, "States will also have to verify identities and legal status of applicants by checking them against federal immigration, Social Security and State Department databases. Pass ID, though, eliminates the requirement for motor vehicle departments to check birth certificates against the issuing agency, which would have posed complications for foreign-born residents and Americans on the move." So, 1) it may ‘check against federal immigration, SSA and State Department databases’, but may still do nothing about the findings anymore than it already has, and; 2) they’re already finding exemptions to really seeing birth certificates for ‘complications for foreign-born residents and Americans on the move’. With these excuses, it lowers expectations, then, of what the thing will do at all to nothing. We don’t need another electronic surveillance of the Sovereign in this country. State driver’s licenses should already be doing what we have asked for in immigration and more affordably, and the introduction of another Card merely shows that our requests can be met after all. Suddenly, immigration can be addressed. However, how would things really change? Laws on the books against asking legal status would be cited as to why this can’t be done after it’s been implemented. Another promise broken and blamed on something external. Meanwhile, an intrusive new sweeping database is formed. Also, I haven’t seen any new technology which makes the PASS ID impervious to fraud as it is implied in going with national standards. For all the advantages listed, I can’t see one precaution which cannot be overcome by thieves. How hard will it be to buy a new firearm with the new Pass ID? Will there be an RFID Chip embedded? Will there be a new ‘Smart Chip’ added? Will states’ rights be stomped again? And can the Statists be trusted? No, they can’t. But let me get back to those comments posted on Part I: I’m asked rhetorically when American Men are going to grow a pair. I’m asked about official looting of the country. I’m asked about taking steps to protecting the nation from incoming viruses and other threats. Fellow Americans, they are all one question. Americans have grown a pair, and are being castigated as anti-government, hateful on the right, and other clues that exercising our authority over the State gets you kicked there by the statists. Kicked to the curb in adolescent taunting and punishment. It is not we who challenge them, it is they who challenge our sovereign authority over them, and it is a very bad sign that they should be so very bold. Further, it is a morbid act that the statists challenge sovereignty even to the point of losing their own. Brilliant. Just brilliant. I find defense mechanisms fascinating. Ascetism is a defense mechanism. It is the renunciation of needs, and it is a reaction (a deep self-defense) to an unbearable experience or anticipated recurrence. One cannot process that initial traumatizing experience ordinarily, so it is lipsticked to make it bearable. I’ve wondered for decades why someone renounces their citizenship as an American and works for the State to the detriment of the individual, even himself. Hmm. Liberty is a need, even if we give some latitude and understanding to anyone who wants to do without material things. It’s not a crime, but discouraging liberty is a crime, especially when losing your own freedom of movement and sovereignty isn’t good enough and you can’t stop yourself from taking liberty from others. These are the drones who look forward to the ascendancy of the State. Getting involved and staying involved is critical to every generation’s freedom and to every next generation’s freedom. Your kids need for us to be involved today. The entire concept of a National ID Card isn’t changed by putting a new face on it. It’s still just as unnecessary, intrusive, and antithetical to our sovereignty as ever.
