As liberty purists say often, gun control isn’t about guns, it’s about control. As non-gun owners, you no doubt are beginning to feel the pinch of restraint on your wrists as your freedoms are being taken away on government fiat, freedoms which seem to have nothing to do with guns. This makes all Americans united on one front: experiencing abuses of powers not granted by the people.

Officials have this penchant for claiming to lift our burdens in what they call compassion or social justice, but in fact lift our liberties as if we have a bottomless pit of freedoms and can afford to surrender up some for their projects. Justice herself then suffers, as, little by little, self-rule, independence, and opportunity are snuffed out.

For many non-gun owners and especially young adults and kids, it may be hard to see just how far we have come and what we have already lost. No fault divorce, feminism, electronic surveillance, anti-family rulings, conflict resolution, education content, hating men and boys, anger management, huge databases, all sorts of programs are based on anti-violence theories; gun control is the proving ground for these for generations in what can be made to sound reasonable, and they have all taken root to dismantle the nation.

Author Howard Nemerov writes that the United States has had gun control since the nation’s inception. Our government took guns from the red man and then from the black man. To say that gun confiscations do not happen here is wrong. (My insurance man didn’t know that New Orleans and other locales confiscated all guns and was ordered by a court to return them. Many people I’ve spoken with had no idea guns were illegally confiscated en masse in the U.S. lately and ordered returned.) Howard Nemerov is an investigative analyst who, himself, was once against handguns, but when he undertook his research into anti-gun theory, he found profound truths which began to discredit the entire schema of gun control. Howard is also one of our Gun Rights Examiners here. His book, Four Hundred Years Of Gun Control... Why Isn’t It Working? compares the rhetoric of all gun control to the realities we have to live with as a consequence of trusting the theory in good faith.

I mention Four Hundred Years because nothing’s changed. We are still trusting officials in good faith, and coming to regret it more and more. Gun Control may sound like a worthy endeavor, but comparing rhetoric today to life’s realities exposes gun control’s frauds. Gun Control is a pig against our very sovereign authority, and putting lipstick on the beast isn’t going to make America safer, but much more hazardous. It always has.

The whole idea of disarming the supreme authority of this country is piggish. Who in their right mind elects to disarm themselves as the supreme authority? Who in their right mind takes the word of servants over their own better judgment and gives up rights for nothing? Who in their right mind doesn’t learn from past disaster of who really loses when guns are taken and who doesn't?

Those who don’t want the burden of self-rule, that’s who, a European concept. Where gun control is more about control than anything else, accepting gun control is about abandoning our self-rule more than anything else. The armed citizen is not only a matter of personal self-defense or even ego, the armed citizen is a aggregate national defense as the safeguard of our supreme authority over our officials and their boondoggles. An armed citizenry means that so many programs simply are not needed. The problem with electing not to carry this personal burden is that it doesn’t end at your choosing to carry a gun or not — for, someone else is more than eager to replace our entire self-rule and rule over all of us, not just you.

Republicans, call your office.
