The genius of concealed carry of handguns – the entire discretion of owning weapons– is in keeping thugs guessing as to who is armed and therefore who may fight back against their violent aggression. In Hollywood and in all celebrity-dom, you have your liberty purists, too, and some of them are fairly frank about their position in support of the armed citizen. What they carry and how they carry it isn’t always announced, but their position sometimes is made known.
Ted Nugent has said and written often that he supports the Second Amendment. He is most enthusiastic about it. Thanks, Ted.
Tom Selleck is an active member of America’s first civil rights organization, the NRA, and he has gladly been a spokesperson for them. Thanks, Tom.
Talk show hosts Tammy Bruce and Dr. Laura Schlessinger own guns. The Tamster owns a .357 Magnum revolver and has named it "Snuffy". Dr. Laura announced this week that she’s bought a new piece. CoastToCoastAM Host George Noory had me on as a guest in 2008, and we talked about how he supports the right to carry. Thanks, George, Dr. Laura, and Tammy, for your service.
Senator Dianne Feinstein handles it a little differently: she supports the right to keep and bear arms for herself. She used to carry a high muzzle velocity revolver concealed with a CCW Permit while Mayor of San Francisco. She then turned those in, and now she simply has armed guards like Rosie O’Donnell does. They believe in being armed, just not you.
Many celebrities own weapons, some personally, some hired.
What if we were all armed? Would every city be an armed camp, or would we be much more civilized and much safer than many might like to admit? We would be better able to take control of both our criminal element and our assets.
In the day-to-day analysis, it’s not a matter of more guns, it’s a matter of character and more self-rule, not just more rule. It is for more rule that gun control was born. It is for more self-rule that the armed citizen was born first.
