When I first moved to New York City eight years ago, I loved it when my friends showed me around the village.  We went to coffee shops, pubs, designer stores and wine bars.  Everything felt so “insider.”

If you are looking for something fun and very “insider” to do this Thursday that won’t break your piggy bank, you should stop by Cornelia Street Café. From 6-8PM you'll be able to get a drink and watch some great new monologues performed by New York’s finest actors, writers and directors.

CORNELIA STREET CAFÉ, APPLAUSE BOOKS and STAGE VOICES are presenting works from the Applause Theatre & Cinema Books series: ONE ON ONE: The Best Men's Monologues for the 21st Century and ONE ON ONE: The Best Women's Monologues for the 21st Century.

Obviously this is the perfect event for acting students who are always on the lookout for new material. But even if you aren't a hungry actor, this might be a good way to show off your village prowess by taking your friends to an underground NY-only event.
This is how real New Yorkers live and breathe.  We work!

$7 entry fee includes a drink, so it’s not free, but it’s not bad either.
