Edward Givens is at the center of today's spat behind Cleveland jocks LeBron James and Braylon Edwards, and New Yorkers are eating it up.

Edward Givens is a friend of LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA star. Givens is a promoter at a Cleveland firm.

Edward Givens was also allegedly punched in the face by Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards early today outside a Cleveland night club.

James rushed to the defense of his friend Edward Givens, calling Edwards "childish." Edwards responded by issuing a tweet saying: "I have no issue with LeBron. I respect and admire him."

The incident has pushed the heretofore unknown Edward Givens into the public eye. His name is the third-trendiest search right now on Google. Both Edwards and James are also in the top 40.

And here's the kicker -- a good deal of the searches for Edward Givens are coming from New York City, where James is reportedly being courted heavily by the Knicks in anticipation of his upcoming free agency. Seems like New Yorkers are interested in anything that might make King James displeased with Cleveland.
