Runway to First Lady Michelle Obama to Shopbop boutique

Thanks to First Lady Michelle O, everyone can work the red carpet - yes, now all non-budget-concious fashionistas can own their own piece of runway fashion.  Models and actresses are so passe - it is all about Michelle O.  Designers are bursting at the seams just waiting for Michelle to pick one of their dresses for her next outing. 

Take for example, the Thakoon dress that First Lady Michelle O wore to the Democratic National Convention.  Looking at the Thakoon dress on the runway, it does not really stand out.  Somehow looking at the dress on Michelle O makes it look wearable. She looks comfortable, stylish and "within my fashion reach" - definitely not my fashion budget.  

One of the really fabulous things about Michelle O's style is that you can someone relate to it - The dress may be ridiculously expensive but she wears it - and all of a sudden you see yourself in it.  The key is obviously owning the dress - not just buying it - but wearing it as if it was made especially for you - fabulous fit.   First Lady Michelle O proves time and time again that a true fashionista can make a potato sack look fabulous with the right cut and fit.
