A full week before Borderlands was released Gearbox announced this next installment which promises to be the first in a series of add ons for the cooperative role-shooter or fps-rpg.  Well the powers that be have settled on a release date for the "Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" and it will available on November 24th for 800 MS points ($9.99)

There still isn't much information on the content or estimated playthrough time for this DLC but the original release does reveal that Dr. Ned is not related to the mysterious Dr. Zed, which is a shame because I developed a genuine interest in what had cost him his license.  Dr. Ned does seem to share Zed's loose ethics and disdain for the Hippocratic Oath.  Here's an excerpt from the release "Tasked with keeping the workers of Jakobs Cove alive, Dr. Ned...does his job a little too well, creating zombies and other abominations that now run rampant in this region. Players will have to work alongside Dr. Ned as they embark on a quest to cure the inhabitants of Jakobs Cove"  Something tells me that we're going to be prescribing quite a bit of lead for these "cures."  Although the new environment and enemies will be a fresh breath of air, if you were getting tired of shooting skags and thought you'd be getting a reprieve think again; apparently Ned got creative with the local fauna as well since the release also includes mention of "Were-Skags."
