Seattle is where Bruce Lee The Man trained and willed himself to become Bruce Lee The Legend. It's kind of like Lincoln in Illinois, or T. Boone Pickens in his tiny little Oklahoma hometown. The place of germination is as imp
ortant as the places where you made your big splash.
But a $50 million musem? In Seattle? That his wife Linda Emery and daughter Shannon Lee is calling BLAM?
Seattle is not Los Angeles or Hollywood or even Hong Kong -- other places where the legend of Bruce Lee flourished and where Lee died at age 32 after taking a pain reliever after complaining of a headache. Lee is buried in Seattle's Lake View Cemetery.
Frankly, it doesn't seem like Seattle needs an attraction whose main purpose might be to supply The Ducks with another tourist attraction stopover. Admittedly, this sounds like a typically Uptight Seattleite mentality, which might mitigate our respect for Bruce Lee -- the legend and the man.
The question is, what's next? Seattle Sea World? Universal Studios Northwest? Seattle Six Flags? Oh no.
