The Advertiser-Tribune ran a great article about Tiffin, Ohio sporting goods store the Mountain Man Tradin Post.

This shop has a wide selection of sporting goods available including hunting and shooting supplies, fishing gear, archery equipment, camping gear, and much more.

With the recent trends in sales of guns and ammunition, those are their hot items currently as well. Jeff Harper, who co-owns the store with John Miller, told the Advertiser-Tribune that despite the brisk sales they are keeping prices on ammunition, which they've had success keeping in stock, at a reasonable level.

"I think the biggest thing is a lot of our competitors are trying to price gouge and we aren't doing it," he said. "Even our suppliers are telling us we're selling too cheap.

"I think that's why our business is good," he said. "People will remember, after this is done, who gouged them. We don't want to get put in that category."

This attitude is part of the Be A Good Neighbor philosophy that has helped the store flourish for the past six years. The Tradin Post is also known for its support of local organizations such as the Bettsville American Legion, Bascom Lions Club, Tiffin Elks Club and the local chapter of Boy Scouts of America.

Harper relayed another story showcasing their philosophy on service to the Advertiser-Tribune about a customer who received poor customer service at a competitor's store.

"This guy had a $180 fishing rod and the place he bought it wouldn't stand behind it," Harper said. "So we did."

 In this day and age, that kind of service is hard to come by. So, if you're in the area and in need of outdoor sporting goods, stop in and say hello!
