November 9, 2009 - The Royal Mail Service, the official post office of the U.K., has just announced a new set of stamps highlighting British album covers of popular music. The stamps will in circulation the first of the next year. The images used for the stamps will be the actual album cover of the artists with ten different images selected for fans to use on their mail or collect.
The rockers highlighted, also very known in the United States, represent great music of our time. An interesting take on these stamps is pointing out that the Beatles were passed over on this particular project. Critics speculate the Royal Mail Service has introduced Beatles Stamps in the past and wanted to highlight other popular British artists.
Here is the list of album cover stamps that will be in circulation after the first of the year:
While we can't purchase these stamps over the counter in the United States, we can purchase the stamps online at the Royal Mail Website when the stamps are released the first part of next year.
