Robert Hallowell is known in Hollywood as "The Kitchen Beautican" because of his amazing talent for whipping up some of the most incredible hair cleansers, conditioners and styling goodies right in his kitchen.
Robert is a native born and bred California boy who has been working behind the scenes in Hollywood for many years and has coiffed the hair of Lucy Liu, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mary Louise Parker, Geena Davis and Courteney Cox, to name just a few.
Currently Robert, who is my own personal hair guru (Rose Zuniga in North Dallas does my amazing color) is currently the Head Hairdresser on the CBS set of the original CSI. Although the show is set in Las Vegas, it is filmed in Los Angeles.
Recently I was chatting with Robert about working with the gorgeous Marg Helgenberger. When commenting on how beautiful she is Robert noted "she's so much more gorgeous in person than on the screen or in photos." Then he said "just like Jennifer Aniston".
Ironically, Jennifer is so admired for her iconic hair and breathtaking beauty. According to Robert, who has met the former Friend a few times at various Hollywood dinners and when she guest starred on TV's Dirt, Jennifer "is a very sweet, lovely and stunning beauty".
In all the years I have known and worked with Robert he has always been brutally honest and has never misled me.
Although he has not personally coiffed Jen's hair since she is completely devoted to her long time hairdresser Chris McMillan, Robert has indirectly worked with her on Dirt since he was Courteney's mane man and Jen guest starred on the now cancelled cable series.
Robert underlined to me that movies, films, TV and photos do not come close to doing justice to how charming, sweet and beautiful her face and hair is up close and personal.
Can you only imagine the media frenzy if Jennifer's true beauty was more accurately portrayed? No, neither can I.
