Police discovered the body of a woman inside a Reston apartment Saturday afternoon and are questioning a man who was there with her.  The incident was reported around 3:40 p.m. at the Winterthur apartment complex at 11900 Winterthur Ln.  Police had received a call to check on the man's welfare, and that is when officers found the dead woman.

Police say both are in their 40’s, and the death appears to be domestic related. Police are calling this a suspicious death pending the outcome of their investigation.  No charges have been placed at this time.  Police have identified the woman as 42-year-old Karen Deck of 1599 Inlet Ct in Reston.  She suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Detectives studied the crime scene, including the apartment stairwell, late Saturday evening.

This complex is no stranger to violence.  A father was stabbed to death by his son here two years ago.
