Seth Green

Clever, quick, talented...no, not the latest Dancing with the Stars season but actor/voice actor/comedian/producer/Butterfinger spokesman, Seth Green. I had the absolute pleasure (some might say better than the Butterfinger pleasure ow ow) of meeting Seth (first name basis? Yes, we're going there), quite possibly the hardest working man in Hollywood. Sorry, Seacrest, it was the Butterfinger title that put Seth over the top.

Prior to meeting Seth, I perceived him as a funny, modest and hard-working guy. I was so wrong. In person he's beyond hysterical, unbelievably gracious and a voracious overachiever. Ba-ba-ba-ba-bonus, did I mention at one point in the interview Seth referred to his girlfriend as a "vision?" Add "swoon-worthy" to the list and promptly commence swooning.
Read below as Seth talks about upcoming projects, being cradled by bears and a writer's strike run-in with Jack Black.
MM: Congratulations on your new role as the Butterfinger mouthpiece! As the Butterfinger ambassador, what are your responsibilities?
SG: Isn’t it fun? Well, my job is to definitively represent the brand and spread goodwill across the world.
MM: Do you prefer the Butterfinger Crisp or old school Butterfinger?
SG: I want to bring back the BB! I like the bite sized.
MM: Your upcoming movie, Old Dogs (in theaters 11/25/09) co-starring Robin Williams & John Travolta looks hysterical. How did that come about?
SG: I took a meeting with Walt Becker & Andrew Panay and then just loved working with funny people - Matt Dillon, Kelly Preston, Justin Long...Parts would be expanded and improvised a lot. The script was already written but just a lot of things were expanded upon. Working with them was amazing. John & I had worked on a couple of films together before, but this was the first one of real length.
MM: You’ve already had wild success with Robot Chicken, a stop motion animation Adult Swim hit. Explain what your next animation endeavor, Titan Maximum (set to premiere on Adult Swim on 9/27/09) is to people who may not be familiar with your Anime work.
SG: It's like Japanese Anime, battling evil. To call it a parody isn’t really accurate. On Robot Chicken we parodied a lot of things but it was done out of love. With Titan Maximum, the basis of the story is that each animation features all teenagers – the archetype of the handsome guy who doesn’t listen to authority, the princess who kicks butt...they're entrusted with the galaxy to battle evil. It would be like imagine if Paris Hilton & Brody Jenner were on the front lines.
MM: What do you consider your big break?
SG: I had been acting since I was seven years old, but I had a combination of things happen at about the same time. Austin Powers came out on DVD, I got a series regular gig on Buffy and Can’t Hardly Wait came out.
MM: What’s a typical day like for you?
SG: Over the last four years, I’ve made a habit of coming into my office in the morning and just getting to work. Because I get involved in so many aspects when one things ends, I am already actively working on something else, like on camera… (Meredith's note: remember people, Seth is an actor/voice actor/producer/comedian/Butterfinger spokesman...it never ends).
MM: Any plans to do Airborne: 2?
SG: During the writer’s strike I was walking a line and ran into Jack Black and he said, “we’re doing Airborne 2!” and I asked “are you kidding?” & he said “yeah.” I like Airborne, its very pure.
MM: You and your beautiful girlfriend were doing interviews during the Emmy Awards, you seem like a fun couple. Do you guys like to stay in and kick back or go out?
SG: Part of what I love about her is that she’s good in any environment. She can throw on a dress and be a vision and we’ll go to a club or we can just be at home.
MM: In not only Old Dogs but another one of your films (ahem, my favorite) Without A Paddle, you seem to end up in the fetal position being cradled by bears...why?
SG: Yeah, why is that? Men, women & animals like to instinctively nurture me.
MM: If a bear were approaching you in real life, would you recommend assuming the fetal position or would you throw a Butterfinger at him?
SG: I don’t know a bear that would discriminate against a Butterfinger.
