What we reported today:
The big news is the story about the remake of "Yellow Submarine." Robert Zemeckis, best known for the "Back to the Future" trilogy. You have to wonder how they'll replace the wistful animation in "Yellow Submarine." From the look of the Disney "A Christmas Carol" website, which features the same multi-dimensional animation process to be used in the new version, it will be like "The Beatles: Rock Band" meets "Yellow Submarine" in terms of its look. Is that a good thing? We're not sure, frankly. Variety isn't, either. However, Zemeckis was also the man behind the wonderful homage to the Beatles "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." He may be very respectful to the band, but the whole idea of remaking a classic like "Yellow Submarine" just doesn't sit well with us. However, as we mentioned in our initial report, the idea of a Beatles Disneyland does. Unfortunately, the initial reports don't mention that.
To answer a question that a few people have asked us, the mono albums will not be released separately. And if you're still looking to order it, here's a page on our Abbeyrd site with links for it.
That Argentine website that we wrote about had clips from "Beatles For Sale" last night.

Allied Artists Pictures has announced that Arthur Allan Seidelman will direct “A Magical Mystery Tour,” the story of Trevor Hampton, and his delusional infatuation with The Beatles and how his obsession rips apart his already dysfunctional family and derails his pursuit of true love. Ironically, Allied Artists' President Robert Fitzpatrick is himself a former attorney for The Beatles. Principal photography on the movie, written by Brooke Halpin and Frank Thurmond, is scheduled to begin in 2010 with a theatrical release later that year.
Those guys at the satirical Onion had a little fun with the Beatles.
