  What we posted Thursday:

The official list prices for the remastered box sets, as displayed in the top link, are lower than the British prices we ran originally, but they aren't cheap, by any means. But then, you knew that.

Update: Amazon.com now has The Beatles Stereo Box Set and The Beatles Mono Box Set listed for less than the list price.

Speaking of the remasters, we hear on the grapevine that the stereo remastered CD boxes were printed in Chicago over the last week or two and the mono box is being printed in Japan.

And after looking at the pictures of the Beatles Story's "Fab4D," we wish we lived closer to Liverpool to see it.

Iain Taylor of Halifax, who had the locker next to Paul McCartney's at the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys, tells CBC News he told McCartney he didn't have a future in music, even though Paul used to sing Little Richard songs around school. "I said to him: 'Surely there's no future in the music industry in Liverpool.' It was all in London at the time and that seemed such a long way away," he says. The article has several interesting memories of his school days with Paul.

More Halifax background stories ahead of Paul's show there this weekend:

  • The Globe and Mail tells how Halifax got Paul McCartney to play there.
  • Joel Plaskett, who's one of the opening acts for Paul McCartney this weekend in Halifax, talks about what's in store to CTV.
  • Interviews with Halifax Beatles fans from the Chronicle-Herald.

Astrid Kirchherr's iconic early photos of the Beatles are to go on display in Liverpool, reports the Liverpool Daily Post.

This week's edition of "The Beatles Universe" features songs of peace in honor of the Halifax show. The playlist includes "Because" (from "Love"), "Free as a Bird," "Freedom" and Ringo's "Choose Love." The show airs Sundays at 9.00pm (EST) on 94.9, The Rock (www.therock.fm).

Curious article from DailyPress.com that appears to be a vintage account of the Beatles on "The Ed Sullivan Show." If it isn't, it's a great recreation.

The New York Times has an obituary on the great Drake Levin of Paul Revere and the Raiders.
