The latest Paul McCartney show report: He'll be playing a show at Atlanta's Piedmont Park Conservatory Aug. 15, according to Richard Eldredge's Peach Buzz blog on Atlanta Journal-Constitution.com.
The blog says the show was announced Wednesday morning at a Live Nation press conference in the city.
According to the blog, general admission tickets go on sale Monday, but an American Express presale begins at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Note: If you sign up for the park's newsletter here, you'll get a special code enabling you to get in the presale, which begins at 10 a.m. Thursday (June 25) through Ticketmaster. Tickets are $79.50 per person.
Edit add: And this from Beatlefan editor Bill King:
Steve,
The Atlanta show rumor that Beatlefan/EXTRA! had previously reported has
been confirmed. McCartney is scheduled to play The Green Concert, an
Aug. 15 show in Piedmont Park in Atlanta.
The booking, a benefit for the Piedmont Conservancy, was announced
Wednesday morning at a Live Nation press conference held at the Midtown
public park’s Magnolia Hall.
“This is, without a doubt, the biggest thing that’s ever happened to
us,” Piedmont Conservancy’s Monica Thornton told the Atlanta
Journal-Constitution. “We’re celebrating our 20th anniversary this year
and this will help us to complete the park’s 53-acre expansion.”
General admission $79.50 tickets will go on sale Monday through
Ticketmaster and Live Nation. But American Express card holders and park
members will get first crack at the tickets when they go on sale
Thursday at 10 a.m.
Cheers,
Bill
