Our posts from Tuesday:

The Boston McCartney shows are as close to official as you can get. The "announcement," as it was, didn't even wait for midnight. We found them listed on Live Nation, completely with presale and sale information, at 11:30 p.m. ET.

Late add: If you're a Boston Red Sox season ticket holder, the Boston Herald says the sale for you starts at noon Wednesday (6/24).

The slow (by comparison to New York) sales in Washington are interesting, to say the least. Some people have suggested it's because the presale wasn't announced in advance. It was. We wrote about it. And yeah, we know it's not in Washington, but Landover, Md.

And as we mentioned in an earlier post, the shows will continue to be announced as they are confirmed, we were told.

It was also nice to see the Harrison album debut in the UK charts so high. It currently ranks #8 in sales on Amazon.co.uk.

Now on eBay, sale ending Wednesday: A collection of 89 Beatles 45 RPM picture sleeves

As we mentioned in another post, we received word Tuesday that the John Lennon tape from the Harry Nilsson recording session that was said to feature Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel did not sell at auction at Bonham's June 14. We also mentioned some items to be auctioned at Christie's, including a very interesting letter from George Harrison in 1986. The details are here.

Out now: a limited edition reissue of The Plastic Ono Band "Live Peace In Toronto" on 180 gram vinyl.

Thanks to everyone who has commented on the Emitt Rhodes interview. Ours is one of the first if not the first he's done in a while.  We received this note Tuesday from Ray Paul:

Saw your article and interview with my good friend Emitt Rhodes. I brought Emitt out of retirement in 1997 to do a concert appearance with me (billed as Emitt Rhodes & Ray Paul) in Santa Monica, CA for the Poptopia Festival held in Los Angeles. That performance we did is available on DVD exclusively through www.permanentpress.net/raypaul.htm on Volume 1 of my two "Performance Reel" DVDs.

In 2000, as part of my career compilation CD, "The Charles Beat", Emitt & I recorded a track together on which he did the middle harmonies with me. "Some Sing, Some Dance" reached #43 on the FMQB radio trade mag's Hot A/C chart and was played on 60 Hot A/C & A/C stations in the USA (released under RAY PAUL with EMITT RHODES).

Emitt brilliantly remastered all my releases and studio recordings for this compilation CD, and co-produced and engineered my version of McCartney's "OH WOMAN, OH WHY" for the 2001 Oglio Records release, "Coming Up: Independent Artists Pay Tribute To The Music of Paul McCartney."

While I was out in L.A. this past January, I was interviewed for the pcoming film documentary the Italian filmakers are doing on Emitt. They hope to show it at a film fest in Hollywood this year (if finished in time) or next year.

L.A./Orange County-based label Brewery Records, with national distribution thru Burnside Dist., also plans to release an Emitt Rhodes Tribute CD, called "Rhodes Of Perfection", for which I've recorded the Rhodes composition 'TIL THE DAY AFTER." Release date TBA.

"The Beatles International,"  a five DVD set repackaging of the Artsmagic travelogue DVDs "The Beatles London," "The Beatles Liverpool" and "The Beatles Hamburg and the Hamburg Sound," will be released June 30. We've reviewed these in the past and given them good marks. The detail in these tours almost gets to the point of being obsessive, but then some of us probably don't mind that, do we? (Thanks to Bart Mendoza for the tip on this.) And if you like Elvis Presley, you may also be interested in Artsmagic's "Elvis' Memphis - A Magical History Tour" and "Beyond Elvis' Memphis." Just as the Beatles discs tour Beatle-related sites, the Elvis discs hit the well-known (and not so well-known) locations associated with Elvis. "Elvis' Memphis - A Magical History Tour" includes stops, among others, at Sun Studios and Graceland (though outside the gates), while "Beyond Elvis' Memphis" visits several places including his birthplace of Tupelo, Miss. Interesting stuff.

The Grammy Foundation has announced it is holding a Grammy Foundation Auction with Rolling Stone magazine on eBay. They're auctioning off issues of the magazine, both vintage and more recent, with the covers signed by the cover subjects, including Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Sting, Paul Simon, Neil Diamond, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson and Rob Zombie. The auction goes through July 2.

This Saturday, Seattle's Crème Tangerine will hold a CD release party to celebrate the release of their CD, "Abbey Road Project." The party will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 27th at Holland America ms Amsterdam, The New Smith Cove Terminal at Pier 91 Seattle, 2001 W. Garfield St., Seattle. (Note: A $25.00 donation to Junior Achievement of Washington is suggested. To receive free entrance you must RSVP to Joanne@jawashington.org no later than 9 a.m. PT Wednesday. Please state you are RSVPing to the Crème Tangerine CD release and include full name, date of birth, and if you are a US citizen. All entrants must include this info for ship manifest/customs. Ship will be docked in port for duration of performance. Identification will be required for entrance.)

We've previously mentioned Apple Jam's upcoming CD, "Off the Beatle Track," which will feature unreleased Beatle songs. They'll also perform a live show Aug. 7 with special guest drummer Alan White at the Triple Door in Seattle.  They'll also perform at International Beatle Week in Liverpool Aug. 28-30. More information is here

In a blog posted Tuesday on MySpace, Julian Lennon says he's taking a break from the internet.

Hi Folks,

Just a quickie to let you know I'm taking some time from the internet to Breathe a little Fresh Air, so I won't be around for a little while. In the mean time, take care, look after yourselves & I'll be in touch soon enough. As They Say...
Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder...
Until then...
