The euphoria of Monday's unveiling of "The Beatles: Rock Band" is past. Now comes the more serious discussion of what the game will be, how good it will be and whether it makes sense to buy it.

On the last note, there should be little concern. The enthusiasm for the game is incredible. Withouth a doubt, it's clearly the most popular video game not on the shelf.

On various message boards, fans and gamers are discussing all aspects of it. How the instruments will figure in. How the game will fit in with other games. The use of harmonies, which hasn't been an aspect of previous games.

As far as compatibility, this note on the gameplay sheet distributed to the press Monday answers some of those concerns:

'The Beatles: Rock Band' will be compatible with all 'Rock Band' instrument controllers, as well as most 'Guitar Hero®' and other third party music video game peripherals and microphones. In addition, the game will also feature a new line of limited edition instrument controllers licensed and designed to replicate the instruments made famous by The Beatles.

Given the buildup we've seen so far, with the ever changing website every week, we'll certainly be getting more information as the days trip on.

And we'll carry this weight, er ... wait until 9/9/09.

1, 2, 3, 4 ...
