If all those pictures of Phil Spector in the courtroom, especially with those strange wigs, had you wondering about what the man was thinking, wonder no longer. Spector (or someone claiming to be him) is Twittering from his jail cell using a laptop. A story in the UK Register brought this to light.
So what was "Spector" saying? Here are a few samples:
John Lennon (and Andrew Lloyd Webber): "John Lennon was a beautiful man who wrote music about an ugly world. Andrew Lloyd Webber is an ugly man who writes about a beautiful world."
Paul McCartney: "With regards to the many questions about my opinion of McCartney, the answer to that is evident in that he was a songwriting genius."
Ike and Tina Turner: "Musically, Ike was by far the greater of the Turners."
About his music: "Most producers don't create, they interpret. When I went into the studio I created a sound that I wanted to hear."
Plans for his memoirs: "Still trying to think up a name for my memoirs book. I've pre titled it 'From Uptown To Downtown'."
What he's doing to pass the time: "Sitting on the edge of my bed tickling my own feet."
Counting the days: "Only 18 years and 364 days to go.
Update: On Wednesday morning, the Twitterer revealed he was a fake. "I am NOT Phil SPector. I made this account as a joke. Befriending a cockroach? c'mon folks... even Phil's not that crazy" and "I copied many of Phil's quotes and I made up half of them. ... It was fun but I feel it has ran it's course."
He also had a message for Twitter. "Twitter you need to start doing something to combat fake accounts. If I was a malicious person I could have caused damage."
