We received two emails today from readers in New York and New Jersey that that had received the Deluxe Fireman set from Paul McCartney's "Electric Arguments" album.
Here are Paul Collica's comments:
Hi Steve:
Just wanted to let you know I just received the deluxe edition of the Fireman album "Electric Arguments" (I live in NY, which should mean that those on the East Coast at least should be receiving theirs shortly). The first indication I had that this is truly "deluxe" is the giant blue plastic bag that contains the whole package. It was left on my doorstep and I could see it from down the block! Seriously, it's huge.
Once I got through the heavy duty packaging, everything appeared exactly the same as has been described on your site previously. I'm about halfway through the bonus DVD, which shows Paul at work in the studio - always great seeing The Man while making The Music.
I'm looking forward to working with the multi-tracks that were provided as well - this is a very cool feature and worth the price of the set as a whole (in my opinion anyway). If only the Beatles would even *entertain* such a concept....forget bootlegs, THIS would be the most incredible way to experience the Beatles' music (OK, we know this will never happen).
I know some people were a bit put off that it took so long for this edition to be released - but, people! It's MACCA. He doesn't like to do anything half-assed. This release proves it - from the tin(?) box that houses the set to the contents inside - it's quality all the way.
