When disc track lists get out prematurely, usually there's little notice.
Not so Wednesday. We published information on a track listing for the new George Harrison CD "Let It Roll: Songs By George Harrison" that was up on Amazon.com. The disc, originally described in the press announcement as "career-spanning," was listed as a single disc with 19 tracks. We checked with a source at Capitol/EMI and we were the first to post the information that the listing on Amazon was not final.
That's a good thing in a way because this single disc track list seems so much slimmer than it should be.
If the early listing was leaked out to gauge a response, it did a good job. Our post had many comments, a lot of them critical.
We'll see when the final track list is announced. But if there are additions to be made, we'd at least like to suggest "Wah Wah," "Living in the Material World" and "Cloud 9" added -- and that's just for starters. We're sure you have your suggestions, too.
Here's a second track list for the album, also 19 tracks, that was posted on the George Harrison.com message board and comes from Tower Records' Japan website. Collectors know that there are often differences between Japanese and American releases, but usually in the way of additional tracks. That's not the case here. Anyway, we've added the differences between the two track lists:
1. "Got My Mind Set on You"
2. "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)"
3. "The Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)"
4. "My Sweet Lord"
5. "This Song" (instead of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from "Concert For Bangladesh")
6. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (instead of "All Things Must Pass")
7. "Any Road"
8. "This Is Love"
9. "All Those Years Ago"
10. "What Is Life" (instead of "Marwa Blues")
11. "Rising Sun" (instead of "What Is Life")
12. "When We Was Fab" (instead of "Rising Sun")
13. "Something" from "The Concert for Bangladesh" (instead of "When We Was Fab")
14. "Blow Away" (instead of "Something" from "The Concert for Bangladesh")
15. "Cheer Down" (instead of "Blow Away")
16. "Here Comes the Sun" from "The Concert for Bangladesh" (instead of "Cheer Down")
17. "I Don't Want to Do It" (Bob Dylan) (instead of "Here Comes the Sun" from "The Concert for Bangladesh")
18. "All Things Must Pass" (instead of "I Don't Want to Do It")
19. "Isn't It A Pity"
All this will be irrelevant when the real listing is announced. We hope.

We were one of those who read Williams back in the day in Crawdaddy!, which was one of the original rock magazines in the '60s.
