In the latest Beatles chart news update on our Abbeyrd Beatles Page website, it was noted that "Electric Arguments" rocketed back up the charts 75 notches on the strength of Paul McCartney's appearance on "The View" last week. Add the Howard Stern appearance to that, reports Fred Bronson of Billboard.com.

And since we're seemingly overrun with Beatle anniversaries, here's another as noted by Bronson: McCartney had his first No. 1 on a Billboard chart 45 years ago. On the Feb. 1, 1964 Billboard Hot 100, its third week on board, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" jumped two places to grab the top spot on the survey.

Tuesday's big surprise was the Comedy Central announcement about Paul McCartney's appearance Wednesday on "The Colbert Report." I wonder how Colbert, who I think is brilliant, will handle it. Think about this for a sec. First, Howard Stern, then "The View," now Comedy Central. What's next ... Fox News? Can you imagine Paul McCartney vs. Sean Hannity? Bill O'Reilly? The real question is could Paul ever let his genial personality down and get into a real political discussion? Here's a suggestion for Bill Maher, who we saw at a past Beatlefest and know is a fan: Get Sir Paul for your "Real Time" show.

The Paul McCartney "Amoeba's Secret" CD was released Tuesday. Amoeba Records, where it all happened, has pictures and video from the 2007 show. Notice, too, the graphic at right, that they sent us which includes the original poster for the show and the cover of the CD.

Ringo has a new video update on his website. Topics discussed include his new album.

Just say no: We had a quote from Paul Freundlich, Paul McCartney's American spokesman, that Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell weren't getting married. Just to underscore it, we also asked Freundlich's British counterpart, Stuart Bell. His exclusive answer to us in an email: "Nope!  Tabloid speculation!" Can't say it much clearer than that.

The new issue of Record Collector features a cover story on Paul McCartney as the Fireman. Unfortunately, only a portion is available online unless you're a subscriber.

Although the Bootleg Beatles musical tribute to the 40th anniversary of the rooftop concert isn't happening as originally planned this weekend on Savile Row, there are other tributes taking place. In Seattle at noon Sunday, Crème Tangerine will be recreating the concert on the rooftop balcony of the Copacabana Café in the Pike Place Market, 1520½ Pike Place, Seattle, Wash. Special guest for the show will be former U.S. manager of Apple Records Ken Mansfield, author of  "The White Book: The Beatles, the Bands, the Biz: An Insider's Look at an Era," who was on the Apple rooftop for the original concert. Following the concert, Mansfield will talk about working with the Beatles and take questions from the audience.

Also paying tribute are Nashville's the WannaBeatles, who will perform on the roof of Rippy's nightclub, 429 Broadway in downtown Nashville at noon Friday.  Admission's free, but a portion of the proceeds from donations and the sale of WannaBeatles merchandise will benefit the MENC: National Association for Music Education, an organization that advances education by encouraging the study and making of music.
