Beatle news briefs: Beatles reunion story has the wrong Spin
- Here are higher quality YouTube links to the McCartney "The View" show on YouTube: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3. And under the YouTube link for the first part of the interview is a comment by spanishbelle69, who says she was in the audience. She (we assume it's a she) said she got her tickets in advance and didn't know he was going to be on the show. She also says Paul stayed around after the show and talked with fans.
- And did we see the same McCartney interview that Spin Magazine did? Paul makes one small mention that, yeah, he'd love to work with Ringo if something can be worked out and Spin has a big headline,"Paul McCartney and Ringo to Reunite?" This is no different than anything they've said in the past and it's no indication that they'll do something, though the possibility has always been there. We can understand this stuff from the usual tabloid sources. But Spin is better than that. Or at least they should be.
- SIRIUS XM Radio will broadcast a Howard Stern-Paul McCartney special this weekend on SIRIUS XM’s Howard 101 channel. The special, announced Thursday, will feature the new Stern-McCartney interview that took place this week, plus highlights of Stern’s first McCartney interview from 2001. The special will air 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. January 17 and at 11 p.m. January 18 on Howard 101. (All times ET).
- And did Paul have other business after seeing Howard Stern? A summary of Thursday's Stern show at MarksFriggin.com includes a passing reference by Stern that "Paul is doing something for SIRIUS" but wasn't sure if it could be talked about on the air. Show producer Gary said it shouldn't be. Stern also said McCartney introduced SIRIUS CEO Mel Karmazin at a business meeting. A SIRIUS spokesman would only say, "Paul was in the building for Howard Stern."
- The creation of a Secretary of Peace cabinet post, which was endorsed by Yoko Ono in Change.org's vote for Ideas For Changing America, came in second with 14,994 votes, according to a note posted on Twitter. The top 10 ideas will be announced at the National Press Club Friday (Jan. 16).
- Ono was also interviewed by the Stanford News Service.
