  • As mentioned earlier, ABC's "The View" made a surprise announcement Monday that Paul McCartney will be on the show on Wednesday. It's now officially on their schedule. Can you imagine having tickets for that show in advance and then finding out Paul would be on it? And you all know Barbara Walters is a cousin of Paul's girlfriend Nancy Shevell, right? Walters talked about that in this clip from "The View." Should be an interesting conversation, especially if the subject gets around to the ex Mrs. given how Barbara feels about her.  She talks about her directly in this video (it's also above) and this one.

  •  The UK's Mail on Sunday newspaper will give readers a free John Lennon CD this weekend. The disc has 12 tracks: "Imagine," "Jealous Guy," "Mind Games," "Give Peace a Chance," "Beautiful Boy," "Power to the People," "New York City," "Bless You," "Slippin' and Slidin'," "I'm Stepping Out," "Grow Old With Me" and "Here We Go Again." The paper also has an excerpt of Philip Norman's book, "John Lennon: The Life" with an interview of Sean Lennon. In the excerpt, he talks about memories of his father and what he recalls about the night of his father's death. Here's a little of it: "Every night when I was going to sleep, he'd come in the room and say, 'Goodnight, Sean,' and he'd flick the light switch in the rhythm of his words, so that they’d wink in time. There was always something very comforting about that.’ " Worth reading.

  • A picture taken at Ringo Starr and Barbara Bach's wedding and also featuring Paul and Linda McCartney and George and Olivia Harrison is going on exhibit at Museums Sheffield in the UK as part of a Family Album exhibit, reports the Telegraph, which has a copy of the picture. The exhibit looks at the changing face of family life through the centuries. But looking at the picture and seeing who's missing from that picture today evokes a bit of sadness.
