Vinyl remastered versions of the Beatles albums are being worked on now, but no date has been set for their release, the head of Apple Records told MOJO magazine.
"We're working on them now," said Jeff Jones, in an interview with the British music magazine. "I don't have a release date. To put a release date next to them forces us into a situation where we're releasing something that might not be ready. "
Beatles Examiner reported in early October that, contrary to rumors going around, sources told us vinyl reissues wouldn't be appearing in January.
Jones' comments to the magazine seem to indicate, not surprisingly, that a boxed set may be coming.
"They are incredibly complicated in terms of getting the masters right and getting the packages right. ... How do you assemble them? How do you put them in a box? How much do they cost?
"We want to make sure we're doing it right and that people get real value from it."
