Beatle News Briefs 12/23/08
- The tape of the drunken John Lennon that was sold over the weekend by Bonhams for $30k is on YouTube in mono and in stereo. It's a pretty sad thing to listen to. You've been warned.
- What happens in Vegas won't stay in Vegas this time: Behind-the-scenes footage of the Beatles' "Love" show in Las Vegas will be part of Fox's New Year Eve TV bash, reports Cinema Blend.com. The New Year's Eve show will look at several Las Vegas attractions before moving to New York's Times Square.
- The UK Daily Mail named Heather Mills one of the worst dressed women of 2008 for offenses like the patchwork suit she's pictured in in the article. We're no fashion experts, but we've seen a lot worse.
- National Public Radio (NPR) has an interview with Paul McCartney talking about the Fireman album.
- In our post on solo Beatles and Beatles-related Christmas songs, we mentioned the delightful Christmas discs by the Beatle tribute group the Fab Four that gives Christmas carols a Beatles beat. The group has just issued a new CD called "Hark!" (imagine "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" to the tune of "Help!" and you get the idea) that features 20 tracks from the previous two holiday CDs. It's available through their website, but won't ship until after Christmas. Figure it this way: You'll have it in plenty of time for next year. Besides, what's wrong with extending Christmas a little bit longer?
