Navigating the blogosphere can be tricky. Half the time you end up on some maladjusted teenage girl’s Myspace blog reading about the boy who won’t notice her or how Fall Out Boy’s lyics are like so incredibly meaningful. When you do stumble upon a worthwhile blog, you feel just like some European explorer setting foot on the New World. With an abundance of new information that you never had access to before, decent blogs are few and far between but worth the tireless search.

In my own scouring of the all blogs the Internet has to offer, I’ve found the following ones to be great sources for indie music fans and musicians.

Largehearted Boy: Offering a daily round-up on news article, downloads of live performances, and reviews, this blog caters to indie music fans as well as literary lovers. Updated a few times day, Largehearted Boy shares great links and downloads with its readers.

The Passion of Indie Music: Comprised of in-depth album reviews, this blog lets readers preview artists’ work. Another great avenue for discovering music (beside Internet radio).

Cliptip: Most of the time, Cliptip posts really well-done music videos that you wouldn’t catch on cable TV. (I say “most of the time” because they recently posted a Beyonce video.) While the genres of the artists cover a wide range, the creativity of the videos on Cliptip are always of excellent quality.

The Indie Band Survival Guide
: For all those indie musicians out there, this blog shares link to useless places on the Internet that help promote your band. A great educational tool for this trying to break into the music industry.
