This year, 2009, marks the beginning of a major push around the globe to encourage atheists to come out, to be counted, and to be heard. Atheist activists literally took their campaign to the streets.

This pictorial retrospective highlights some of the billboards, bus ads, and subway ads that appeared around the world throughout the year that sent a message out to atheists everywhere - you are not alone.
