This deal was recently posted on Yahoo's gay travel site. Looks like a great gay-friendly getaway. San Sebastian is at 4500 feet in the Sierra Madre Mountains. This historic town is a cool summer escape and is a little less than a two hour drive from Puerto Vallarta. The town was founded in 1605 and once was home to around 40,000 people. less than 1,000 live there now. To visit San Sebastian is like walking back into time. For less than $55 per person (when you include the discount below) , you can stay at this hotel and breakfast and dinner are on the house.
Here's the hotel's announcement of the deal.:
OK - we aren't "gay-owned" but we are certainly "gay-friendly" (ask anyone who has stayed there!!!). Hacienda Jalisco in San Sebastian (www.haciendajalisco .com) is a great getaway for a night or two. Quiet. Peaceful. And most importantly, COOL AND REFRESHING. Sweater-weather in the evenings.
Our summer prices are 770 pesos (about $59 US) per person, per night and includes dinner and full breakfast. By mentioning HealthCare Resources when you email (info@haciendajalisc o.com) (that's my other email address!) I'll give you an additional 100 pesos (about $7.50 US) off per person. The garden is in full bloom and we have everything from sweet corn to carrots!! It's magical up there!!! No wild parties, no flashing disco lights, sorry, no drag shows (although I guess I could ask my son Joe who operates it and our cook Pablo to change their clothes! Many of you know my son Joe from bartending at various events-functions in Vallarta and I can guarantee he is very gay friendly - he always says GIVE ME A GAY PARTY OVER A STRAIGHT PARTY TO WORK AT ANYTIME! MUCH BETTER TIPPERS!) - just very peaceful, serene and yummy food! Give it a try!!!! The hotter it gets in Vallarta, the better the weather up there! (Thanks for letting me blatantly post the Hacienda Jalisco!)
