There’s a big rumor going around today (9/10/09) that the new owner of Energy 92.7 is very homophobic and he fired a lot of the employees at the radio station. Ed Stolz (former owner of KWOD in Sacramento, and current owner of 2 stations in Vegas) purchased Energy for $6.5 million. Energy’s facebook fanpage has been leaving comments to keep people updated. Below are some of the comments from the page:

You can no longer listen to Energy 92.7, and when you try to streamline the music online, you get a blank web page. Looks like everyone will need to go to the Lookout tomorrow in the Castro to find out what happened. Goodbye Energy 92.7. This truly is an end to an era. We will miss you!

A facebook page petitioning to bring the station back can be found here.
