Telluride paid tribute to actor Viggo Mortensen, an accomplished actor with many wildly successful films behind him: “Witness”(1985); “Crimsontide” (1995); “Prophecy” (1995); “Perfect Murder” (1998) and “Walk on the Moon” (1999). He is now starring in the much talked about film “The Road,” (Due out October 16, 2009) based on Cormac McCarthy's (No Country for Old Men) post-apocalyptic tale of survival. Viggo stars along side young Australian actor, Kodi Smit-McPhee as his son and the South African born, Oscar winner, Charlize Theron (“Monster” 2003). He and Kodi became fast friends. They are pictured below in the slides at the Venice Film Festival together.

"The Road" youtube blurb: "Viggo Mortensen talks about losing weight and gaining a son for his latest movie - the much anticipated screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer-prize winning book 'The Road.."
