Can't afford the $114,200 for a 420hp V8 Audi R8?  No room in the garage for this beautiful luxury sportscar?  No problem.  Drive it on your Xbox 360.  Get those gaming fingers ready.

Audi is teaming with Forza Motorsport, the hottest name in racing games, to launch the 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro on the new Xbox 360's "Forza Motorsport 3".

But you'll have to wait until October, when "Forza Motorsport 3" parks on gaming store shelves, real or virtual.  That's about the same time the real life version arrives in Audi showrooms.  Audi and Forza Motorsport are hoping the new Xbox 360 game will set a new standard.

The game features the Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro prominently on the cover as its "hero" car.  Game designers worked closely with Audi engineers to model the virtual R8 V10 with the same gear ratios, tire deformation, and track telemetry. That's so the virtual version is nearly identical to the real driving experience, not that you want to zoom around a racetrack yourself at warp speed.  Or maybe you do.

Anticipation for the 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro has been running high in advance of its arrival in showrooms in the second half of 2009. At the 2009 Boca Raton Concours d' Elegance charity auction in February, rights to own the first R8 V10 model in the U.S. sold for a record $500,000.

There's no pricing yet for either the 2010 V8 R8 or the super souped-up V10 flagship with 525hp.
