Who knew that Halloween offered so many choices for adults? You don't have to celebrate it on Halloween, although you can, but the choices are endless. Are you a mystery lover? There's a mystery writer's symposium in Camden, Maine this Saturday. Does touring a local castle, attending a Halloween party for adults or seeing a film interest you? Then you're in luck, because there's something happening everywhere in the state. Here's a summary of some of the events, with links to more events.

Death and Desserts, Camden, Maine Library, October 24, 2009, 2:00 p.m. - Authors to include Gerry Boyle,  author of the Jack McMorrow series and his new series commencing with Port City Shakedown; Tess Gerritsen, medical doctor and author of more than a dozen books who writes bone-chilling medical mysteries; new author James Hayman; well-known mystery writer Dorothy Cannell; Sarah Graves;  and Kate Flora, co-author of Finding Amy, a true-crime story. Come to the beautiful town of Camden, where the library sits on a hill overlooking the harbor, and where the mystery writers are top-notch.

Casino Night, Dunaway Center, Ogunquit, Maine, October 24 , 2009, 8:00 p.m.-midnight.

Halloween Tours at Castle Tucker, Wiscasset, Maine, October 29, 2009, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Halloween Dance, Litchfield, Maine, October 31, 2009, 7:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m.

Performing Arts, "An American Werewolf in London," Freeport, Maine, October 30, 2009 and October 31, 2009, 8:00 p.m.

Silent Film, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," Portland, Maine, October 30, 2009, costume contest 6:30 p.m., film at 7:30 p.m.

Halloween Spooktacular with the Portland Ballet, Portland, Maine, October 31, 2009, 2:00 p.m., with children's costume parade during intermission.

Halloween Adult Costume Dance, Kittery, Maine, October 23, 2009, 8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
