Something about the holidays makes me want to hear vocal music. And while it used to be that you didn't really think about Christmas until just after Thanksgiving, the holiday season officially comes by Halloween these days--at least if you judge by Macy's store decorations. Most holiday concerts won't be happening for a while yet, but it's definitely time to start anticipating!
Here are four not-to-be-missed holiday events!
The go-to holiday musical event at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, A Cathedral Christmas features the church's terrific Choir of Men and Boys. For a chance to hear the choir in a truly Anglican setting, try the Lessons and Carols service on Christmas Eve.
One of the world's preeminent Renaissance vocal groups, the Tallis Scholars appears at Cal Performances on Friday, December 4.
Hear the beloved San Francisco ensemble in your choice of several concerts from December 12 to 22, all over the Bay.
4. Anonymous 4
The world-renowned Medieval and Renaissance ensemble of four voices presents a Christmas program through San Francisco Performances on December 3.
