Twilight special edition DVD cover

Twilight fans across the world are counting down to the DVD’s release on March 21st. Where will you be when this much anticipated movie hits the shelves? Select Borders, Blockbusters, and Hot Topic stores will be hosting DVD release parties starting at 10pm, Friday, March 20th. These parties promise a variety of activities to appeal to the die-hard Twilight fan including; Twilight trivia, raffles, and awards. So, roundup your crew, slip into you favorite Twilight T-shirt or vampire wear and head to a participating store near you. Get there early to get a wristband or pre-order your DVD online. Borders will be only have limited supply available. They will begin selling to those who pre-ordered or have a wristband at the stroke of midnight.

Go to TwilightTheMovie.com to find the nearest release party, listen to the soundtrack, checkout photos and video clips from the movie, and even download a release party planning checklist. The DVD party kit includes a customizable email invite that you can send right from the site.

Here are a few more ideas to help you bring a little bit of Forks, Washington home for your DVD release party:

No Twilight party would be complete without vampire fangs. These from ACandyStore.com are classics. While you’re on the site check out their red candy hearts and theater sized confections.

For your décor, fill tall clear vases like these from Pottery Barn with shiny red apples. Dim the lights and use lots of candles. Put together your own spooky candlelit alter like this one celebrating the Day of the Dead in Mexico. Keep your colors dark and rich in red and black, of course. Oriental Trading has Halloween supplies all year round. They have a collection of black balloons, table cloths, and barbed wire. Make sure you have enough seating and pull out floor pillows and throws to help everyone get comfy.

Keep the food simple. I’d go with a movie theater style buffet; popcorn, candy, mini burgers, hot dogs, and several different kinds of soda creatively displayed. For a little something extra, serve up red velvet cupcakes and a dark red specialty cocktail like a Bloody Mary or a Red Razz which is a blend of 2 parts Bacardi Razz, 2 parts Mountain Dew Red, 2 parts fruit punch.

Don’t forget to download the Twilight Soundtrack to play while your guests get settled in for the movie.
