Love it or hate it Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away.  Here’s my pick of 5 romantic venues to take that special someone or just hang out with friends:

Crazy, Sexy, Oya

I’m a big fan of Oya’s pre-fixed lunch menu.  It’s one of the best deals in town. This place oozes romance. They’ve put together a 5 course tasting menu for your and you sweetheart on Valentine’s Day. Located in Chinatown, Oya is steps away from lots of spots for after dinner drinks, bowling at Lucky Strikes, or a movie at the Regal Gallery Place theater.  So, the night doesn’t have to end after dinner, unless you want it to.

All Aboard for Romance

I recently went on an Odyssey Cruise and I must say it was much more than I expected. The food was great and the view was spectacular. We were lucky to have the weather just warm enough to go out on the deck to take in views of the monuments and the lights on the shore line. They’ve put together a fantastic Valentine’s Day Package including a complimentary glass of champagne, a rose per couple, as well as live entertainment and dancing.  Cruises are available Friday, February 13th through Sunday the 15th.

Love’s a Pot of Warm Chocolate

What’s more intimate than double dipping with the one you love? The Melting Pot is such a fun, interactive meal. It’s perfect for a first date or a night out with friends. The chocolate fondue dessert sounds like heaven. It comes with a plate full of goodies including cheesecake, strawberries, marshmallows, and brownies all ready to be skewered and covered in warm chocolate. Rinse it all down with a glass of champagne.

Indulge in a French Kiss

From Thursday February 12 through Wednesday February 18th, French Bistro Mon Ami Gabi in both Reston and Bethesda will be offering a signature French Kiss Cocktail as well a special Valentine’s Menu.  The Reston location is hosting a Morning After Valentine’s Day Brunch.  Show up in your pjs and receive a gift certificate equal to the value of your meal. Such a sweet way to keep the kisses going after Valentine’s Day.

Start a Tradition at the Tabar Inn

Experience the charm of the Hotel Tabar Inn tucked away in Dupont Circle. Serving traditional American Cuisine, the Inn has a cozy, rustic atmosphere and a delightful menu. I’ve heard fantastic things about their Saturday brunch which features freshly made donuts, pumpkin pecan pancakes, and smoked shrimp rémoulade with fired green tomatoes. They’re also offering a special Valentine’s Day dinner menu available by reservation only.
