Christmas is around the corner. It's practically next door stealing your cable and making a mess on your lawn, but your friendly neighborhood movie dude will give you good ideas on what to buy for your movie fan.
The list is in no particular order and there won't be a quiz later. The only criteria is that gifts are inexpensive and practical. That means no gag gifts, e-cards (Ok, maybe Hoops and Yoyo) or homemade gifts (I know, everyone loves your Nutella Mayonaisse popcorn balls...except, they don't!)
10. Netflix Subscription - Trust me, they'll appreciate it even if they already have a subscription. Gift subscriptions start as low as $4.99 and if you order before Dec. 29th, part of it goes to charity, so everybody wins.
9. Twilight swag - You know someone who likes this movie enough to Edward Cullen's face tattooed on their shoulder, but since they're likely 14, get them a hoodie or something here.

8. Movie Gift Cards - What do AMC, Cinemark, Carmike and others have in common? They're all theatre chains and they all offer gift cards. Advice: Get a card with enough for 2 tickets and concessions. Unlike a McDonald's gift certificate, $5 won't cut it (believe me, I've tried).
7. Iron Man - This is one of the few can't miss DVD's to give as a gift. What's even better is that it's one of those gifts you can borrow afterwards. In addition to the movie, it's got all kinds of great extras featuring how the CGI was created to Robert Downey's screen test. Yes, he had to audition. Great for anyone's DVD or Blu-Ray (sorry HD DVD) collection.
6. Fathead - The price ranges from about $30-$90, but they have a bogoho (buy one, get one half off) sale. Fatheads are these large wall graphics. I'm talking huge as in 6'x3'. They've got movie characters from Batman to Boba Fett (as well as sports and Disney characters) . It's the gift every little boy or girl wants and every guy will hug you over. Yes, it's that cool.
Still not enough? Have no fear, picks 1-5 are here, because you're not the only one who waited until the last minute. Now, if your movie fan secretely dreams of making movies, here's a few good ideas.
Enjoy!
