GOP rallies behind calls of socialism and declares new war on President

In January Republicans from around the country gathered to elect a new Chairman for the National party. Yesterday concluded a three day “Special Session” based on that decision, after months of gaffes by their earlier choice for chairman, Michael Steele.

As the retreat was held in beautiful Prince George’s County, Maryland, the hometown of Chairman Steele, while the body felt it necessary to divulge and criticize his recent increase in staff pay, it seemed funny that no one mentioned the exuberate amount of money wasted on a three day retreat, at the costly National Mall, where they spent only 23-minutes in a closed door session, discussing none other than President Obama and Democratic attacks?

While many focused on the gathering as a way of building on momentum caused by Obama policies, others questioned the reasoning and outcome of a proposed resolution to label the Democratic party, the “Democratic Socialist Party”. After much discussion and I guess extreme time consuming intellectual man hours, they scrapped or rather tweaked that idea, for another "bright idea" to continuously urge President Obama and Democrats to stop "pushing our country towards socialism and government control."

You have to be kidding me? And the Baltimore Sun was actually quoted as saying that the Republicans “spared the party the potential embarrassment of the more strident language of the original resolution.” You cannot be serious? Either way the Party seems to be out of touch with reality if they think involving the socialist argument in anything they do, as being the answer of weakening the Democrats and becoming an insurgent message for anyone other than the idiots making this decision.

No one understands or even cares to digest the word and meaning of socialism, they only know it makes you sound like the school yard whining brats, who have nothing better to do than cry foul, offering no real solutions or alternative measures. Aren’t you paying your outreach person $180,000 a year? I hope this isn’t what you are paying them for, because you ain’t going to reach NO ONE!

Not even those of us that want to hear something positively catchy coming from the Party of Lincoln, the members that when last checked, believed in smaller government, lesser intrusion and taxes, independent and individual responsibility reaching out to attract those fiscal conservatives and those even more moderate social progressives.

Follow the lead of some of your State parties who seem to have an understanding or at least have come to grips with what works and what doesn’t. Come out to tonight’s Senate GOP Minority fundraiser in Kent Island, hear the message of the State’s leadership and learn how you can assist in defining the message of the National party with that of what the locals may need! You hurt the individual States with the idiocy of your national talking heads and punitive policies!
