Conservatism v. Liberalism Part V: The history of…: ‘Independence’-making the case for It and against party politics.

 G. 'Independent' Washington

Paleo, Neo, Theo, Socio, Plato, Aquina, Radio, Cato, Buchano, Austrio, Fiscal, Reaganites and Goldwater-type conservatives, along with Blue-Dog (conservative) or moderate liberals; all are just a select few of explanatory adjective describing type of Democrats or Republicans. It gives a broad sense of how those folk feel and live dependent on political thinking and beliefs. However, what if you have a cross of beliefs that incorporates two or more of these philosophies? How about if those beliefs cross ‘party’ lines, such as a fiscal conservative and an ultra-liberal socialite?

These factors and more are the reason why parties and their die-hard belief system, of societal mandates, should have no bearing on today’s political system, therefore leading us to a more independent-styled cross-belief of American acceptance, toward others and their ways of thinking. Why can’t a Democratic Party official agree with a Republican leader, who may have the answer to some of today’s most controversial, or seemingly untouchable, policies? How come when a Democrat has a good concept or policy idea, the Republican controlled chamber will not allow it to come to a vote, either in committee or even to reach the floor, for discussion? Why? I’ll tell you why; because today’s child-acting, immature philosophy of political hardball and petty posturing, won’t allow that to happen. How about because of all the money being given to these greedy party leaders and bosses, won’t allow them to break from the business and lobbying financiers.

Too much money involved and too much pressure from their constituents, to bring home the goods, in order to stay in an office that may not pay a whole heck of a lot, yet gives perks that would make even Clarence Thomas shake his tail-feather! This system of pay to play, an underhanded and sneaky direct and indirect style of nepotism, shall not be tolerated. However it does exist only because the masses, who see this and could possibly do something about it, believe they can’t so they don’t and the ones with far reaching influence are brought into the ‘inner-circle’, where they are paid off with hush money and comfy titled positions. So will America ever wake up and change its way of thinking and begin to do things differently, to achieve better results?

I think so, however it will take, a Great leader of some type, too awaken the blind, deaf and dumb from the dreamy world of pessimism and discontent, while at the same time exposing these phony leaders with egos the size of Texas (who I call emotional leeches), for who they really are and ending this continuous game of charades and political cat and mouse. Those fake *ss money-hungry savages, only concerned with lining their pockets with gold, while playing on the intelligence (or lack of in some cases) and emotions of our people! (Sorry for the cursing outrage but these folks make me sick! I have more respect for the upfront and personal hatred of Klansmen or others, who are at least comfortable and honest with whom they are and make no bones about it, with any hidden agendas of destruction for their own kind!)

Any way, if we begin to take a look at the beginning of the political spectrum, here in America, after Reconstruction, starting with George Washington, you will see an Independent philosophy, of greater good, for the people. The founding fathers, felt that a party-styled system of politicians would ultimately begin serving themselves, before the will of the people, they were elected to represent. That was over three centuries ago and it is still relevant today. Therefore today, we as a people, must begin to recognize the truth in those fears, and seriously look at what is going on today around us, in this political realm of false realities, and come to the realization that, we can serve ourselves, better than any party or elected representative could ever do. Then we must begin identifying others that represent our ways of thinking (philosophies) and use their same electoral system of dominance, to begin electing like-minded folk, to represent our communities.

Beginning tomorrow, with the start of the guest-featured writings of Catalina Byrd and the Bird’s Nest Question and Answer article, I will begin a daily listing of the top-10 reasons I am an Independent and why I feel all those self-sufficient/relying individuals reading this article (and those who may not but merely hear about it), should also consider becoming Independent as well!

Thank you for your time and consideration of my thoughts, beliefs and fact-checked writings, over these last few days, of this series. I hope it has enlightened just one, or either at least made you think hard about America’s political history and what it means to you, today!
