Obama gets burnt playing with radical fire

Play with fire, President Obama, you will get burnt. Don't like getting a taste of your own medicine?

The Washington Post reports Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and others are targets of a smear campaign. Progressives want a public option, government run health care, and Landrieu opposes it. This health care fight is a symptom, not a cause.

In recent weeks, liberal bloggers and grass-roots groups such as MoveOn.org, Democracy for America, Service Employees International Union and Progressive Change Campaign Committee have targeted Democratic  Sens. Ben Nelson (Neb.),  Mary Landrieu (La.),  Arlen Specter (Pa.),  Ron Wyden (Ore.) and  Dianne Feinstein (Calif.).

The cause is a cause. Five million minions identifying with MoveOn.org, and who knows how many lone assassins, who believe in their manifestos. Goonish tactics like anonymous emails, foul language and fantastic conspiracy theories, the arsenal for fighting their cause. It can be overwhelming for the unprepared. Conservatives do not compete in this arena, although there are scattered lone assassins claiming Conservative values as well.

This army obsessed over Sarah Palin, her daughters and the birth of her baby. Their effectiveness is disturbing.

In recent years any respectability think tanks, advocacy groups and good government gangs like Common Cause, may have commanded has evaporated. These groups are funded by internet goons, wealthy liberals and a host of well meaning do-gooders.

President Obama does not seem to grasp the danger in allying with these amoral forces. With no sense of right and wrong, the ally can spontaneously combust into the adversary. This is what is happening on health care, the peril of a pact with the devil.

Devilish forces silence opposition, like Sarah Palin, by launching massive propaganda campaigns, ridiculing and mocking outsiders. This strengthens a state run media (Washington Post, New York Times, ABC and the White House press corps), enforces secrecy and corruption, all the while engaging in duplicitous double speak, denying everything.  Change. Hope. Transparency. None of which they actually believe.

These groups cannot say what they really believe because the American people are just not ready. The groups are smug in their superiority. They know best what the rest of us need. We need government run health care. Free health care, run by elitists. Education is free. Everything is free. We are all equal (except for the elitists). Competition eliminated in favor of guaranteed outcomes for everyone. Cap and trade leads the way to state run industry, dictated by the SEIU.

Gag me with a spoon. Upon second thought, let me watch while President Obama gags on a spoonful of his own medicine.
