
Pohick Bay Regional Park, located on the Mason Neck Peninsula 25 miles south of Washington, is one of only three public access points to the Potomac River in northern Virginia, and is the closest to DC. Pohick Bay offers canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, sailboats and jon boats for rent on the weekends.
Pohick Bay shelters an abundance of wildlife, including bald eagles, blue birds, osprey, heron, deer and beavers. Visitors may even see a river otters on occasion.
In addition to water activities, the park also offers camping, hiking, picnic areas and a large play area for children. For anyone interested in swimming, Pohick has one of the largest outdoor freeform pools on the east coast!
A manageable body of water, Pohick is shared with motor boats, jet skis and other non-motorized boats and is also big enough to plan a paddle to your meet your fitness level. There is a dock as well as a sandy beach for launching non-motorized boats and rentals from the canoe/kayak center.
