With the release of the fourth installment of the Indiana Jones films in 2008 ("Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"), many people are newly discovering interest in the eminent archaeologist's adventures, and others are renewing their long-held appreciation. Some people may even be interested in traveling to some of the places that Indiana Jones finds himself in his many adventures, depicted in the four films. Are you one of these people? If so, then this article is for you. The steps here will tell you about each of the places Dr. Indiana Jones travels to in each of his film adventures. Armed with this information, and after brushing up on world geography, you’ll be better equipped to plan a trip and travel to all the exciting destinations portrayed in the adventures of Professor Indiana Jones.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: Start the Raiders of the Lost Ark adventurous journey by heading to an archaeological site in the jungles of eastern Peru. Then go to a university campus in Connecticut, USA. Following that, travel around the world to Nepal, in the Himalayas. Next, proceed to Cairo, Egypt, and then on to Tanis, Egypt. Finally, head back to the USA, to Washington, DC.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: To retrace the steps of the Temple of Doom adventure, you will need to begin your journey in Shanghai, China. Next, head to India. You’ll need to find a small village to visit, and then trek through the jungles to proceed to a large and mysterious Maharajah palace. After visiting these places, you may want to end the trip in Delhi, India, as that is where Indiana Jones was heading at the close of this film.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: For the Last Crusade adventure, you will need to begin your journey near Moab, Utah, and particularly visit Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park. Next, take a boat ride off the coast of Portugal. Then head back to a university in the New York City area, in the United States. After this, you will head to beautiful Venice, Italy. Be sure to explore the canals and some old churches there. Next, tour a castle, with tapestries, along the Austria-Germany border. Finally, travel to the ancient city of Petra, in Jordan.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Begin the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull adventure in the deserts of southern Nevada, in the USA. Although Indiana Jones found himself inside a military compound and "Area 51", you may be wise not to try to authenticate this part of the adventure. Next, head to a university in the northeastern U.S. As you proceed on this adventure, you will now travel to Nazca, Peru, famous for the mysterious Nazca Lines. Next, you’ll need to travel east into the jungles of the Amazon Basin, and to Ilha Aramaca, in Amazonas province, Brazil. Finally, head back to a university in the New York vicinity in the United States.

To learn about and plan trips to other destinations, keep in mind the following:
  • Additional accounts of Dr. Indiana Jones' other adventures not portrayed in films may be read about in a variety of books (books by Max McCoy, Rob McGregor, and others. Perform a search on Amazon.com).
